The Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand (ISSH) was founded in 1973 in Mumbai during the first National Hand Symposium, held under the able leadership of Dr. B. B. Joshi, Dr. N. H. Antia, and Dr. S. D. Pandey. It is the official National body of the Indian Hand Surgeons.
Every year, ISSH has its Annual Conference called ISSHCON.
ISSHCON 2026 – The 49th Annual Conference of the Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand (ISSH)
is being held under the aegis of ISSH and supported by the West Bengal Orthopaedic Association and the Association of Plastic Surgeons of West Bengal.
It is scheduled to be held on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th October 2026 in Kolkata, the City of Joy. This meeting will bring together the country’s most eminent hand surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, and plastic surgeons to share their wealth of knowledge and experience. The conference will also be graced by distinguished international faculty from around the world. It aims to catalyse a paradigm shift in practice and promote excellence in hand surgery.
